About CBE Special Industry Project

The CBE Special Industry Project is the first of its kind at ANU, involving one industry partner who acts as the client that provides a relevant business issue/problem/opportunity, for which students design, develop and present their solutions.

Students are mentored by an industry professional from within the consulting industry that supervise each team to support the quality and applicability of their outputs, through to the final reports.

This course is structured to be highly competitive. Teams will present their recommendations to industry clients. Outputs should be practical, applicable to the organisation’s issue and of a commercial standard.

This course is a 6-unit elective for undergraduate students.

Previous industry clients have included:

  • Unilever - 2017, Semester 1
  • Community Living Australia - 2017, Semester 2
  • National Australia Bank (NAB) - 2018, Semester 1
  • St John Ambulance Australia - 2018, Semester 2
  • Meat and Livestock Australia - 2019, Semester 1
  • Royal Australian Mint - 2019, Semester 2

  • practice critical thinking and creative problem solving in a collaborative environment;
  • acquire and develop professional skills;
  • meet and network with multiple industry experts.

To be eligible to apply students must have:

  • completed 72 units of your ANU Degree.

This course will run in semester 1 and semester 2 each year. Applications open in week 10 of the semester prior to study.

This is a high-intensity, demanding and rigorous course requiring a high level of commitment and high-quality output. The course is application only and will be capped at 30 people (students will be working in teams of 3-4).
