Ethics clearance

Human ethics clearance is required for all research that involves human participants such as in the use of questionnaires or interviews.

If the research is being completed by an overseas university or has been collected by another external group into a data set, please be aware you may be required to submit an application for an Ethics Clearance Confirmation. In all cases, please check with the Ethics Office ph 612 53427.

If it is a shared grant with data collection; the lead investigator's university will need to obtain ethics clearance from their university in the first instance, then the other investigator's will all require Ethics Clearance Confirmation from their universities.

Human ethics training sessions are run regularly by ANU for staff and research students. Session and registration details can be found via this link: ARIES Human Ethics training sessions.

The College runs an annual ethics information workshop open to our all academic research staff and research students. Further information can be found on our Research skills workshops page.

For submission process enquiries please contact the Ethics Office ph 612 53427 directly.
