The ANU Publication Subsidy Fund
ANU Publication Subsidy Fund can provide ANU authors with financial assistance (generally up to $2,500) for the commercial publication of academic research that is unlikely to be published by an independent commercial publisher without financial assistance. This publication allocation is to support publications by ANU Press. Applications are usually due by end of October.
Open Research at ANU
Over 60,000 publications entered into ARIES are now automatically registered with OpenResearch@ANU. Publications are available to download unless embargoed or restricted. Academics can view information on publications, including altmetrics.
ANU authors of research outputs in OpenResearch@ANU may receive automated requests from individuals to view a copy of their publication via the “request a copy” feature – if your publishing agreement allows you to share your research outputs with individuals, please make use of this facility.
With open access publishing there has been the unfortunate emergence of predatory publishers that promote conferences and journals with poor quality review mechanisms.
The ANU Library have advised on their open research website, http://openresearch.anu.edu.au/about-open-research-anu, that if you are ever unsure about the validity of an open access publisher or publication or have questions about copyright considerations, contact the ANU Library or ANU Research Services. The Australasian Open Access Support Group (AOASG) is also an authoritative source on current developments in open access publishing and has addressed some concerns authors may have about Open Access publishing.
