Welcome

Dean's message

Dear students,

We know this has been a very challenging start to the year and many of you have been impacted by the travel restrictions – either preventing you from returning to Canberra or coming to ANU for the first time.

I would also like to welcome you to ANU College of Business and Economics (CBE) and assure you that we are fully committed to fostering a supportive university environment for you, no matter where you are located.

On Friday, you would have received an email from Professor Grady Venville, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), who provided an update on our plans to support students who cannot attend courses in person. We are working hard to ensure that whether you are on-campus, or studying remotely, you have access to your classes and opportunities to engage with our campus community. You can view the list of available courses here.

The College has put in place a suite of activities for students both on and off campus to ensure you can make the most of your ANU experience. This includes participating in Orientation Week activities and undertaking your courses in Semester 1. If you have any questions, please visit our FAQ page or email offcampus.support.cbe@anu.edu.au.

You can find a list of Orientation activities below which I encourage you to participate in. All of these events will be recorded and will be posted on our CBE website making it easy for you to attend in person or remotely. We encourage you to keep an eye on the website for the latest updates on our events and would appreciate any ideas you may have to ensure all of our CBE community feels welcome.

While this has been a challenging start to the year, we are here to support you and ensure that you have the best experience. Here at ANU we are one community and together we will help support those of you affected by these exceptional circumstances.
