Credit Eligibility for CBE Undergraduate Programs

There are several options for obtaining credit for previous study depending on where you studied and if that program was completed.

Transferring from an uncompleted Bachelor's program

If you are transferring from an uncompleted Bachelor’s program at an Australian recognised university to a single CBE Bachelor’s program you may be eligible for a maximum of 72 units of credit.

After completing a Bachelor's program at another Australian university

If you are starting a single CBE Bachelor’s program after completing a Bachelor’s program at an Australian recognised university you may be eligible for a maximum of 48 units of credit. However, if a student is commencing a Flexible Double Degree, the credit limit is significantly reduced.

After completing an advanced Diploma at TAFE or CIT

If you've completed an advanced diploma you may be eligible for a maximum of 24 units of first year credit pending on the program completed and the Bachelor they will be undertaking at CBE. If they have completed an Advanced Diploma in Accounting to do a Bachelor of Accounting at CBE, the maximum credit is up to 24 units of first year electives.

After completing a Diploma at CIT or TAFE or recognised institution

You are not eligible for credit. This can be used for admission to the university only.

After completing an associate degree of 2 years at an Australian recognised university into a single CBE Bachelor’s program

You may be eligible for a maximum of 24 units of first year credit. 

Studied 1 year at a Group of Eight (GO8) university

Your Course Outlines will need to be assessed by course conveners prior to granting of credit.

The GO8 includes University of Western Australia, University of Melbourne, Monash University, University of New South Wales, University of Queensland, University of Adelaide, University of Sydney.

Studied 1 year at a non-GO8 university 

You will need a minimum of a Distinction grade to receive specified or unspecified credit. Course Outlines will need to be assessed by course conveners.

Transferring from an ANU uncompleted CBE Bachelor to a different CBE Bachelor

There is no unit limit on credit, provided that the course fits within the program requirements of the new degree. 

Beginning a CBE Bachelor after completing a CBE Bachelor

You may be eligible for a maximum of 48 units of credit.
