Career highlights

Appointed Secretary to the Treasury in September 2019.

  • Appointed Secretary of the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Cities and Regional Development from September 2017 to August 2019.
  • Awarded the Public Service Medal for outstanding public service in the area of climate change policy in 2016.
  • Held the role of Deputy Secretary in multiple government departments including:
    • Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (2016–2017)
    • Department of Industry, Innovation and Science (2016)
    • Department of the Environment (2013–2016)
    • Department of Industry, Innovation, Climate Change, Science, Research and Tertiary Education (2012–2013)
    • Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency (2010–2012)
  • Worked with the Australian Bureau of Statistics and the Treasury from 1992 to 2010.
