Meijun Qian is a Professor of Finance at the Research School of Finance, Actuarial Studies, and Statistics, College of Business and Economics, Australian National University. Previously, she is an Associate Professor at ANU, an Assistant Professor of Finance at the NUS Business School, National University of Singapore. She is also a research fellow at the Wharton Financial Institution Center.  She obtained PhD in Finance from Boston College.

Professor Qian’s research covers the comparative financial systems, law and finance, financial institutions, corporate governance, mutual funds, and financial issues in China and India. Her work has appeared in top-tier academic journals, such as Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Management Science, and Journal of Financial Intermediation as well as practice journals, such as CFA Research Monograph and Harvard China Review, and several book chapters. Her body of research has generated 700+ citations in other academic works according to Web of Science (Google Scholar 4000+). Her work has also been invited to present to regulators, such as the SEC,  Federal Reserve Banks, the Capital Market Board of Turkey, People’s Bank of China (Central bank), World Economy Forum, and requested as special reports by prestigious policy-oriented research centers, such as Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and Asian Development Banks.

Professor Qian serves as an Associate Editor at the Quarterly Journal of Finance and Accounting. She has also contributed professional services as independent directors of assets management companies, committee/reviewer for many conferences, research councils, and reviewers for many prestigious journals, such as American Economic Review, Journal of Finance, and Review of Financial Studies.
