Research objectives

My research mainly focuses on the role of innovative business models in addressing societal challenges. I explore the interaction between organizational hybridity, resource constraints, and social complexity and their effects on social outcomes.

  • My fieldwork in China and India have been published in top management journals: two in Organizational Studies (ABCD A*) and one in the Journal of Business Ethics (ABCD A).
  • I have also written various policy-relevant reports on Social Impact Assessment, Social Finance, and Social Inclusiveness during my affiliation with the Carleton Center for Community Innovation, the UNRISD, and other such  organizations 


Past working experience: India, Canada, Hongkong, Spain, Australia

  • Prior to moving to ANU, I was  Assistant Professor at IE University, Madrid, Spain.  
  • I have also taught at City University, Hong Kong, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
  • Teaching in different countries and cultural contexts have been enriching and has shaped my teaching style and outlook. I have received various teaching awards, most recently, Dean’s teaching awards in 2016, 2017 at IE Business school.
