Host An Intern

ANU College of Business and Economics is proud of our reputation for excellence in the CBE Internship Program (the Program) and the academic programs that support it. In 2016, the Program won the Silver Award (Oceania Region) at the Reimagine Education/QS Stars Awards, supported by QS and The Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania. The Program also won the 2016 CBE Award for Excellence in Educational Innovation.

We are transforming the award-winning CBE Internship Program to incorporate virtual opportunities for Semester 1, 2021! Click here for more information.

The ANU College of Business and Economics Internship Program is a great initiative for industry partners to gain access to a pool of high-achieving and talented ANU students in their senior academic years for short-term projects and subsequent graduate positions or employment opportunities.

In this program, a select group of students commit 120 or 240 hours (12 or 24 hours per week over 10 weeks) to industry internship projects for course credit. The internships will contribute to developing employability skills of our students, who can undertake value-adding activities for their internship hosts. Each internship is covered by an ANU Internship Agreement, including clauses for insurance coverage, non-disclosure of confidential information, IP protection, and an internship schedule.

This program also includes five (5) practical workshops throughout the semester to assist interns in further developing skills within the workplace.

Each intern will be supervised by a workplace supervisor and an academic supervisor, and be supported by the CBE Careers and Student Employability team (Course Convenor, Tutor, Career Consultants, and Program Coordinator).

There are two intakes each year, coinciding with Semester 1 (February - May) and Semester 2 (July - October) periods.

Benefits of Hosting An Intern

This program provides mutual benefit for host organisations and students. Students apply academic knowledge in context, apply and develop employability and professional skills, and gain valuable insights into the professional workplace.

Industry partners benefit from fresh perspectives based on research-led education as well as having the opportunity to assess students first-hand for graduate and ongoing employment.

We would be delighted to work with partners across public, private, and not-for-profit sectors. Suitable projects could be either research-based or operational-based in any discipline areas related to Business and Economics.

We seek placements for students in the following disciplines:

Accounting Actuarial Studies
