Stephen Bartos

Arun Abey

Stephen Bartos is the CEO of the Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth (ARACY). ARACY aims to use research evidence to positively influence policy making and practice and improve outcomes for children and young people.

Stephen is the former NSW Parliamentary Budget Officer. The main purpose of this role isto cost election promises submitted by the Premier and the Leader of the Opposition. 

Prior to this Stephen was the Canberra Executive Director of leading economic and public policy consulting firm ACIL Allen. He has also been Professor of Governance and Director of the National Institute of Governance at the University of Canberra, and prior to that, Deputy Secretary of the Commonwealth Finance department.

He is a former Commissioner of the International Air Services Commission and Board member of the Telstra Instalment Receipt Trust Company.  Stephen is a Fellow of each of the Institute of Public Administration Australia, Australian Institute of Company Directors and Australian Institute of Management.

Stephen has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the Australian National University and completed postgraduate studies at Harvard University.
