CBE Venture Lab launches Activation fortnight

1 February 2019

The College of Business and Economics (CBE) Venture Lab is launching in time for Semester 1 with an Activation fortnight of entrepreneurial activities and sessions. These will include talks from business leaders, workshops and community gatherings.

The CBE Venture Lab is a new program and physical space that offers a variety of ongoing activities and opportunities for ANU students to develop entrepreneurial skills and projects. It aims to build a community of those interested in improving their own projects or contributing their skills to existing projects. The activities will help to identify what level of experience someone has and how best to guide them forward.

CBE wants to create campus-wide support for entrepreneurial ventures and to help all ANU students get hands-on experience with developing their ideas and projects, whatever stage of realisation they might be at.

Although the lab is aimed at current ANU students, it will also bring together alumni and academics, to feed their experience and expertise back into the community through talks, workshops and project consultations.

The Venture Lab is pushing to make ANU an entrepreneurial leader, both locally and abroad.

Students from across the campus and from any discipline are encouraged to get involved, as there are no limitations on the kinds of projects that need support, nor the kinds of skills that might benefit them.

The CBE Venture Lab is located in the Pap Moran building, just next to Kambri. The Lab is made up of several different rooms that can house boardroom style meetings, computer workspaces, guest speakers and presentations, and a break-out area for unwinding and socialising with other Venture Lab users.

The Lab is running an Activation period, during which students can sample some of the activities and events on offer throughout the semester. Once the semester starts, there will be a schedule of events including some ongoing and one-off activities.
