16 July 2018
Moving away from home may be a daunting thought for some, but for Rachel Goodall the move was an integral part of her higher education experience.
“Moving out of home has been a very positive experience for me, giving me independence and confidence.
“Experiencing university as a student living at college is amazing and has encouraged me to mature and grow, giving me the necessary skills to enter full-time work,” she says.
Choosing to study at ANU was such a positive experience for Rachel that she applied to the ANU study abroad initiative, which provides students with opportunities to study at some incredible learning destinations around the world.
“My favourite experience academically was completing a study abroad program at Lancaster University in the United Kingdom. I made life-long friends and had the opportunity to travel extensively while completing my studies. I also got to see what university was like in another country.”
Graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce (Corporate Sustainability) / Bachelor of Accounting double degree, Rachel’s new global perspective has helped her to get a head start in achieving her career goals.
In July, Rachel commences a graduate position at Grant Thornton’s Melbourne office as an auditor, and aims to attain her qualification as a Chartered Accountant.
