Student Project in International Marketing

Student Project in International Marketing

30 November 2014

The ANU International Business Plan Competition is in its 6th year of operation in 2016. The competition runs as part of a semester-long course where students take on the role of professional consultants for live Australian small-to-medium sized enterprises to provide analysis for expansion of their product and service offerings to new international markets. Firms that participate are from both ACT and NSW and vary size, industry and international experience. Among the mix are previous winners of the ACT Chief Minister's Export Awards.

The competition is organised and coordinated by Dr Vinh Lu from the Research School of Management. Dr Lu is known for his enthusiastic and passionate teaching persona, his pursuit of authentic learning, and his provision of an engaging and supportive learning environment. His innovative teaching and approaches have earned his several awards, including a Vice Chancellor Teaching Enhancement Grant (2011), the College of Business and Economics Award for Excellence in Teaching (2012), the ANU Commendation for Outsourcing Contribution to Student Learning (2013) and so on.

The course delivers both hands-on learning for the students and powerful strategic and operational insight to the firms involved. The course is sponsored by the ACT Government Economic Development Directorates and the ACT Export's Network.
