Performance and Development workshops for Supervisors

Performance and Development workshops

3 August 2016

Supervisors and senior leaders within the ANU College of Business and Economics now have access to a new suite of performance management and leadership development training modules.

The College Human Resources team encourages supervisors and managers to attend the upcoming training courses that are being offered to assist with their leadership development.

These Performance Development training courses will provide useful techniques and processes in managing staff and team performance.

Upcoming workshops include:

Effective Performance Conversations

This full day workshop will provide the opportunity to identify the leadership behaviours which foster a culture of excellence as well as effective management approaches where underperformance exists. The Academic Supervisors session will take place on 29 September, and the Professional Supervisor session will be held on 10 August.

Strategies for Managing Performance & Very Difficult Workplace Behaviour

This workshop provides real-world frameworks and practical tools for planning and managing ‘performance coaching’ conversations with a particular focus on managing very difficult behaviour. This training is available to senior academic leaders, with sessions held on 12 October with a follow up session on 3 November, or a full day session on 31 October – bookings via Horus.

Essentials of Successful Performance Management

This half day workshop offers training to effectively manage staff performance and promote engagement in the workplace.  The session will provide you with the legal framework and the key stages of performance management within the Enterprise Agreement, the path to improving performance, and an update on current case law.

Sessions for Academic Supervisors are available on 8 September or 17 November, and sessions for Professional Supervisors are on 11 August or 13 October.
