CBE welcomes professor Markus Brueckner

The ANU College of Business and Economics is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Markus Brueckner as a new professor of macroeconomics within the ANU Research School of Economics.

Professor Brueckner joins us from the University of Queensland’s Economics Department, and has also previously held positions at the National University of Singapore and the University of Adelaide.

His research and teaching interests focus on economic growth and development, political economy and fiscal policy.

Professor Brueckner has published widely in leading international journals, including Econometrica, Economic Journal, and International Economic Review.

His research has been featured in Bloomberg, Financial Times, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and the Economist. In addition, he has been engaged in numerous consulting projects for the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

He completed his PhD at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Spain in 2010, and graduated from undergraduate studies in economics at the University of Mannheim, Germany in 2006.
