Business Plans, Entrepreneurship and Growth Strategies

Business Plans, Entrepreneurship and Growth

25 November 2014

Since 2003, Dr Nailer has organised teams of students in management courses to carry out a variety of real-life projects for external organisations. He has developed at postgraduate level, an experiential learning process where students apply a range of tools to two major projects undertaken as core courses in the MBA program at ANU. The first of these develops the business feasibility for a new venture - a task requiring creative thinking, market research. The second postgraduate project builds on the first, and develops a growth strategy for a real company, in partnership with companies in the ACT.

Since 2003, 64 of these external projects have been done for 48 local teams, which expose the students to their own and others' strengths and weaknesses as professional managers. Companies and organisations that have hosted projects so far include: Air Services Australia; Wizard Information Systems; Radpharm Scientific; e-timesheetz; Perpetual Water; Fitness Trails; IDP-Education; GP Sports; Aspen Wizard Power; Water Plus; Hiting Lab; Mount Majura Vineyard; Content Keeper; BigWord tech; Polartechnics Limited; Lark Hill Wines; Shaw Vineyards etc.
