Internship program recognised in global awards

8 December 2016

The ANU College of Business and Economics (CBE) has won Silver at the prestigious 2016 QS Stars Reimagine Education Awards for its innovative Internship Program.

CBE was awarded Silver in the Oceania region at the Awards ceremony on 6 December at the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania.

The global award was created to promote innovative education programs to help make students more employable.

Recent graduate of the internship program, Megan Stokes, Bachelor of Commerce/Economics, is off to Sydney to start a career as a graduate consultant at SMS Management and Technology.

“The CBE internship program definitely helps your professional development, gives you confidence to sell yourself, your skills and your abilities,” Ms Stokes said.

“The internship has made me job ready, it’s made me really excited to get out there and experience the real-world work environment.”

CBE’s Director of Engaged Learning and head of the Internship Program, Dr Vinh Lu, said the award recognised the merits of the CBE Internship Program.

“This external validation from QS Stars Awards also encourages us to continue to strive for not only educational excellence but also sustained industry partnerships in our quest to further strengthen our global ranking in terms of student employability,” Dr Lu said.

CBE’s Associate Dean of Education, Dr Bronwen Whiting, congratulated Dr Lu’s team.

“Vinh and his team have done amazing work this year with the program, and it is wonderful to have been recognized in the QS stars award.”
