Maintaining Confidence in Audit in a Changing WorldÂ
The Lecture will consider the challenges for audits undertaken in the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors, and measures being taken to enhance audit quality and maintain confidence in the value of audits.
The research lecture is delivered by Roger Simnett, commentary by Grant Hehir.
Roger Simnett is the current Chair and CEO of the Australian Auditing and Assurance Standards Board and a Scientia Professor of Accounting at UNSW Sydney Business School. He is also a current member of the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board and the New Zealand AUASB. He is recognised as a leading international auditing researcher whose research interests cover a range of international auditing/assurance issues, aimed at improving audit/assurance quality and making policy recommendations.
Grant Hehir is the current Auditor-General of Australia at the Australian National Audit Office. Before his appointment as Auditor-General for Australia, Grant served as the Auditor-General of New South Wales (NSW) between November 2013 and June 2015.
