Lunch and Learn Enterprise Risk Management

Lunch and Learn: Enterprise Risk Management

The ANU College of Business and Economics are hosting a Lunch and Learn session in the discipline of Actuarial Studies.

This workshop is for public and private sector industry professionals who are looking to take the next step in their career by upskilling with a postgraduate qualification in Actuarial Studies from the ANU.

This session provides a taster of the postgraduate level course Enterprise Risk Management over a working lunch*.

Presented by Dr Gaurav Khemka, Senior Lecturer in Actuarial Studies at the ANU.

*$15 registration fee covers the cost for lunch.

About the session - Enterprise Risk Management

The Enterprise Risk Management session will briefly cover:

• What is Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)?
• Why (E)RM?

Gaurav will also cover the postgraduate programs available in Actuarial Studies at the ANU and the opportunities that await following graduation.

There is also the opportunity to speak to Student Advisors from the ANU one on one about your postgraduate journey.

About the Facilitator

Dr Gaurav Khemka teaches Actuarial Studies at the honours and postgraduate level at the ANU Research School of Finance, Actuarial Studies and Statistics. He is also involved in teaching the Commercial Actuarial Practise course for the Institute of Actuaries.

Gaurav holds a PhD from the ANU in Actuarial Studies and Statistics, a Master of Actuarial Studies and a Bachelor of Economics (Hons). He is also a Fellow of the Actuaries Institute (FIAA) and a Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary (CERA). Prior to joining the ANU, Gaurav was at Bond University where he was instrumental in achieving accreditation for their actuarial program.

Gaurav's research interests span the fields of Life Insurance and Superannuation. His main area of research is the analysis of life-cycle decision-making process through numerical stochastic dynamic programming.
