CBE Research Supervision Workshops 1 & 2

CBE Research Supervision Workshops 1 & 2

Getting started, keeping going & finishing!

The workshops are part of our CBE HDR Supervision Certificate program for all CBE academic staff who undertake or who plan to undertake HDR supervision.  Dr Margaret Kiley presents up-to-date information on supervisory practices nationally and internationally and there is an opportunity to also discuss supervision in the CBE context.

Program includes:

  • Workshop 1  Topic:  Supervisory Relationships and Expectations
  • Workshop 2  Topic:  Milestones, Thesis Assessment and Examination
  • CBE context and opportunity for questions
  • Breaks for morning tea & light lunch

The College expects all academic staff who supervise HDR students to have completed the set of research supervision workshops. We are offering both workshops together and you are welcome to attend both or the one you need to complete. The workshop series is held once a year.

Workshops & CBE Research Supervision Certificate:

The College offers it’s own CBE Research Supervision Certificate for the completion of the series of supervisory workshops incorporating Workshops 1 & 2 (held on here campus) and the CBE HDR Retreat (held off campus in the September mid semester break).

The goal of the CBE Research Supervision Certificate program is to support CBE's HDR supervisors in undertaking this role with the provision of relevant and practical information with a CBE context.
