Non-compulsory Corporate Wardrobe

 

Overview

Non-compulsory corporate wardrobe is available for purchase by College staff from Neat-N-Trim Uniforms, 175 London Cct, Canberra.

College staff can use their annual College Professional Development Scheme allocation for the purchase of pre-selected non-compulsory corporate wardrobe purchased from Neat-N-Trim (NNT) Uniforms.  Information about Neat-N-Trim Uniforms can be found by visiting http://www.nnt.com.au

Benefits

Employees are eligible for tax deductions for expenses incurred in the maintenance of approved non-compulsory wardrobe.  The Australian Taxation Office determines the level of tax deductions available.  Claimable benefits include laundering, dry cleaning and alteration costs.  Further information on eligibility of taxation benefits should be obtained from the Australian Taxation Office.

Policy

The following policy applies:

  • As per the ATO guidelines, a wide selection of corporate wardrobe pieces and colours have been pre-selected for the intended purchase by College staff.  Use of the College Professional Development Scheme allocation is only available for pre-selected items.  These items can be identified upon request at Neat-N-Trim Uniforms, but consist of the following:
    • Females
      • Navy Jackets
      • Navy Skirts
      • Navy Trousers
      • Navy, Chambray Blue, Gold, White/Navy Stripe and White Shirts
    • Males
      • Navy Jackets
      • Navy Trousers
      • Chambray Blue and White Shirts

Ordering Procedures

  • Please advise the NNT sales staff you are from the ANU College of Business and Economics as they will then assist with selecting garments that have been approved by the College.
  • After selection has been made please forward the NNT Order Form to the CBE Finance Office for approval. The CBE Finance Office will endorse the Order Form and fax back to NNT.
  • The garments will be delivered via Registered Post. Please take the Registered Post slip to the Australia Post outlet in the ANU Newsagency in the Union Building. Please note that the garments can take up to 8 weeks to be delivered.
  • The Tax Invoice will be delivered with the garments (usually inside the box). Please forward the Tax Invoice to the CBE Finance Office so that payment of the account can be organised.
