  Brief Biography

Following 22 years in various managerial roles in the international oil industry and federal government (Defence and National Security Projects and Research), Nigel Martin recommenced a rewarding and challenging academic career at the Australian National University in 2007. As an employee of the  Department of Defence, Nigel was awarded the Dr Allan Hawke Inaugural Secretary of Defence Scholarship in 2003 allowing full-time PhD study for one year (valued at $95,000, including $15,000 research funding). Nigel has a broad spectrum of research and teaching interests ranging from information systems and technology research through to the practice and theory surrounding strategic management and corporate strategy. Also, Nigel was formerly a teaching staff member at the Queensland University of Technology (early 1990s) and the University of Canberra (2004-2006).
