Professional Development Scheme (PD)
The College supports and encourages staff to develop their career objectives and
recognizes that opportunities for development are present in nearly every
staffing position. Therefore Professional Development Scheme has been
established for all general and academic staff holding appointments for longer
than 363 days and funded out of the College’s main budget.
It is expected that the financial support will be used for items that have a direct relationship with the staff
member’s duties, roles and career aspirations.
The maximum amount of financial support under this scheme is currently $1,000
for each eligible
staff member per annum. Eligible staff on a part time appointment are entitled to a pro-rata amount.

Corporate Wardrobe
A non-compulsory corporate wardrobe is available for all staff. There is a wide selection of smart to casual
garments to choose from. All garments have the ANU’s logo embossed which gives the clothing a professional
appearance. You can visit the Neat-N-Trim Uniforms shop at 175 London Cct, Civic where you are able to
try on and be fitted. Neat-N-Trim also do alterations.
College staff will be able to claim a refund through the annual professional development allocations for the
purchase of a corporate wardrobe purchased from Neat-N-Trim Uniforms.

Travel
The College has its own internal policy and procedures for work related travel in accordance with the ANU
and Australian Taxation Office rulings. Each school works within an allocated budget and travel approved
by the Head of School accordingly.
